Child Care Resources gives referrals to licensed Family Child Care Homes, Preschools, and Child Care Centers. Child Care Resources believes parents have the right and responsibility to select the child care for their child. We provide information and materials on what to look for when selecting child care and how to make choices that best meet your family's needs.

We have helpful brochure on Choosing Child Care (PDF format) which will help you in your locating quality child care for your family.

Referrals from community resource and referral (R&R) agencies such as ours are available free of charge, are done in accordance to state regulations and are of only providers currently licensed with the State of California Community Care Licensing Division of the State Department of Social Services.

To best serve your child care needs and provide the most up to date and accurate information, we currently do not offer web-based referrals. Our agency phone numbers and hours are on the Contact Us page.

If you live outside of Amador and Calaveras County and wish to locate your local Child Care R&R Agency you can find an agency near you through the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network (CCCRRN) or the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) for R&Rs outside of California.

About Some Web-Based Referral Services...

While some R&Rs do offer on-line referalls to their area's child care, there are also many private web sites that offer referrals and use information that is out of date, incomplete or only provide listings to providers who have paid a subscription fee. Reputable R&R sites are ran by publicly funded organizations and offer free up-to-date on-line referrals - usually only just in their area.

Make sure the check the purpose/reputation of any site and the quality of the information provided before giving out any personal information on-line.

Disclaimer:

Child Care Resources encourages and supports parental choice in the selection of child care. We believe that children have the right to a safe and healthy environment. We give referrals not recommendations. We urge parents to interview child care facilities and check references before leaving a child in care.

State law requires licensed child day care facilities to make accessible to the public a copy of any licensing report pertaining to the facility that documents a facility visit or a substantiated complaint investigation. In addition, a more complete file regarding a child care licensee may be available at an office of the State Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division. You have the right to access any public information in these files.
